Proud Peacock Pattern
Instructions to make a crib/toddler size quilt (finished size is approximately 38” x 56”)
Get your rotary cutters and rulers out, we’re cutting lots of 2.5” strips!
But don't let that intimidate you... this quilt whips up so quickly. It's half log cabin style, one of the most satisfying quick sews out there, in my opinion. ;)
The instructions include basic tips and tricks to speed up the process, like pre-cutting most of the strips before starting, and chain stitching all the blocks in one go, so that before you know it, all 8 blocks are done! There is simple sashing between the blocks and the triangle pieces are cut from large squares.
Cutting diagrams and layouts are labelled and although there are written instructions, you aren't bogged down with words. Imagine Ikea instructions, but with a sentence or two with each picture.
As a sewing instructor, who is accustomed to teaching hundreds of beginner sewers and sewists, the instructions are written so that even if you have never done patchwork before in your life, there should be enough information in here to make it perfectly doable! Sew jump right in!
